This was a project for Thermodynamics II at Concordia University. The project was to make a small thermoelectric vehicle operated by a Peltier device and a small tealight candle.

Lots of testing went into this project. We had to learn what a Peltier device was and how to maximize its output. We even thought of propeller locomotion for a brief time. After many hours of testing our Peltier device gave out, so I opened it up out of curiosity.
Design
The car was 3D printed and designed in SolidWorks. We believed this to be the best option considering the car had to be lightweight but also functional, a perfect match for 3D printing.
Competition
Finally the competition day. We were nervous but as the video shows, the little car, Zolt, took off and was able to do the circuit in just 20 seconds! Zolt was able to climb the ramp in 10.21 seconds, and held this as a record for 5 minutes... until the next team beat us. Zolt still got second place!
